Common questions

What happens on your 30-minute free call?

It's usually on Zoom or Teams but we can do a phone call or Whatsapp if you prefer. We talk about what's going on for you and what you'd like to gain from coaching, and you can ask me questions too. By the end you'll have a good sense of whether working together would be a good fit, but you don't have to decide anything on the call.

How do I book, and what happens next?

You can book a free call through the link on this site and pick a time that suits you. If we both think it's a good fit, I'll send you the practical details and we'll set up a first session. Or, if you're already clear you want to work together and you just pay and then get redirected to my calendar to book your first session, at which point you'll also sign a coaching agreement.

How soon could we start coaching?

We can usually get started within a week or so of your introductory call, as I keep some slots reserved for new clients so that they don't have to wait too long. If it's going to be longer than that, I'll tell you on the introductory call and you can decide whether you're ok with the timeframe.

I'm still waiting for an assessment. Should I wait until I have an answer?

You don't have to wait unless you want to, and it's useful because you can start putting positive changes in place before getting assessed. It can also mean you go into your assessment feeling more confident and better prepared for the process.

What if I'm self-identified rather than diagnosed?

It's totally valid to be self-diagnosed and I won't be questioning you or asking you to justify anything. What matters for coaching is the understanding that you have of yourself, and you getting the clarity that will support you best.

Will you tell me if coaching isn't the right thing for me?

Yes. If I don't think coaching is the right support for you, or that I'm the right person, I'll say so and will signpost you to another practitioner. Some things are more suited to working through with a therapist. For example, if you're dealing with acute mental health challenges or you want to focus predominantly on processing things that happened to you in the past.

I'm incredibly grateful to Christina, as coaching with her was transformative for both me and my business. It's helped me feel more settled and confident, reducing anxiety while still making consistent progress. Christina not only helped me establish meaningful targets but also supported me to build and maintain momentum. If you're looking for a coach who combines practical strategy with genuine support, I highly recommend Christina.

Christina has a lovely warm style when coaching. Her use of the right question as well as silence, gives you time and space to think, which helps you find your solutions. I highly recommend Christina as your Coach!

FAQs

Common questions people ask before we start working together.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults rather than children, but other than that my client base is varied. I've done a lot of business coaching and career coaching in particular, so I'm used to working in those areas. I also love working on the deeper questions around identity or a sense of purpose, those things that go beyond career or business.

Do you work with people outside the UK?

Yes. I work online and I have clients in several countries, including America and various countries in Europe and Asia. If you're not sure if you'll find appointments that work for your timezone, get in touch and we can take a look together.

Do I need a formal diagnosis to work with you?

No. Plenty of the people I work with are self-identified, on a waiting list, or still working out whether they want a diagnosis. What we work from is how things are for you day to day, and any support you need through the diagnostic process.

What actually happens in a session?

In the first session we spend extra time finding out what your current situation is and what you would like more of, or what your goals are. If you're not so clear on your goals we spend time discussing them, and sometimes doing visualisations or writing exercises to help with that (adapted to however you think best). I check with you each session what your priorities are, and as the conversation continues I'll keep checking to make sure we're making progress in the right direction. If it's relevant, towards the end of the session we'll make some action plans or design an 'experiment' you can try before we next meet.

How many sessions will I need?

We start off with a series of six sessions. For many people, after those first six they have met the outcomes they wanted and have what they need. For others, we're working on longer-term goals or they just want the ongoing support, so we keep working together beyond the first six.

How often do we meet, and can I contact you in between?

Most people do well with sessions every two weeks, so that's my general recommendation. Some people want a more intensive experience, say they're doing a job search or working on a more urgent work issue - in those cases we do weekly sessions. After the first six sessions, some people do a monthly or more infrequent 'top up' session.

Do I get notes or a recording of the session?

If you choose to have an AI tool enabled during the session then you will receive notes after the call. There are times during coaching where I can take some notes for you, for example if we're making a plan for your business or for a specific meeting we might agree that I'll take some notes while you think something through. You can ask if you'd like to have session recordings too, and we can set that up.
